Lake Worth updates bicycle, chronic nuisance property code, laws

LAKE WORTH — Three new ordinances became law in the city last night.

City Commissioners at Tuesday’s meeting on second reading passed a bike ordinance to remove outdated regulations, amended the Chronic Nuisance Property Code to include overdosing and code enforcement violations and updated the nuisance abatement code to also include overdosing.

Vice Mayor Scott Maxwell said the bike ordinance could be an opportunity for the city and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to help solve the bike theft problem and to get the bicycles back to the rightful owner.
