There were 36 rapes in Lake Worth in 2016, down from 47 the previous year. Robberies fell from 197 to 185 and burglaries decreased from 490 to 432, the report showed.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Capt. Todd Bear is scheduled to give his quarterly presentation at Tuesday’s City Commission meeting.
Meanwhile, the number of reported murders were up from seven in 2015 to 10 in 2016. Aggravated assaults also jumped from 230 to 279.
As for overdose cases, there were two deaths in February. That number increased to five in March.
There were 18 cases in February where the overdose victims were revived, PBSO said. That figure rose to 53 in March.
PBSO said there were 31 prostitution arrests the past six months, with multiple operations targeting both prostitutes and johns.
Two illicit massage parlors were also raided, PBSO said.
In his report, Baer is also expected to talk about the city’s alcohol ordinance, camera projects and goals for this year.
