cottages-updated-book-coverLAKE WORTH — An invitation-only book launch for “Living Large in Small Spaces: The Cottages of Lake Worth” is scheduled to be held Dec.7 at the Lakeside Castle, 116 5th Ave. South from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

A book signing, open to everyone, will be held Dec. 17 at from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, 601 Lake Ave.

Janice Snearer, the book’s coordinator and Taylor Jones, the book’s photographer, will be on hand.

The 240-page book, authored by the late Dean Sherwin and one that features 200 color pictures, details the history of about 60 cottage homes and how homeowners decorate them.

Sherwin passed away in March at the age of 72 from pancreatic cancer. He finished the last chapter of the book while in treatment.

“We’re trying to appeal to people who want to downsize or who like small houses,” Sherwin told The Palm Beach Post shortly before his death. “Not everybody likes living in a mega-mansion.”

The book will be on display every Saturday at the city’s Farmer’s Market at Old Bridge Park, 10 South Ocean Blvd., through the end of December.

To get a copy of the book, call Snearer at 561- 352-0599 or visit this site.
