LAKE WORTH — Once again, as part of World AIDS Day, Compass Community Center will display 132 panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt.

For the past eleven years, Compass has displayed colorful panels from the quilt, a 54-ton, handmade tapestry that serves as a tribute to those who died from the disease — and to those who are prospering despite having it.

On Thursday, the nonprofit will host “A Night of Remembrance” reception that will include the grand opening of the quilt display, a performance by Voices of Pride, a candlelight vigil, calling of the names and an interfaith memorial service.

The event is scheduled for 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

On Dec. 8, there will be a Community Education Dinner that will include a tour of the quilt. RSVP is required — patrice@compassglcc.com

The next night, Compass Youth and Entourage will host a screening and discussion of “It’s Not Over,” a documentary about three millennials living with  HIV.

The quilt will be on display through Dec. 10.
