Race and music take center stage at Palm Springs Library show

PALM SPRINGS — Kitty Oliver on Thursday at the Palm Springs Library  will headline “An Evening of Music and Multicolored Memories,” a cabaret performance of jazz and personal stories of race an ethnicity in the United States.

Oliver is South Florida author, media producer, oral historian, educator and recording artist. She appears in the new Beatles documentary, “Eight Days a Week: The Touring Years,” scheduled to hit theaters next month. Oliver shares racial memories of the early Fab Four era.

The performance is scheduled for 6:30 to 8 p.m. The reception and the performance are free. Email events@vpslibrary.net or call 561-965-2204 to RSVP.
