What will happen to The Puppet Man’s puppets?

Puppet Man pic 4LAKE WORTH — Many thoughts — too many to count — raced through Jennifer Azzaro‘s mind when she learned her father, John — The Puppet Man — died of a heart attack.

Foremost in her thoughts was: What’s going to happen to all of her dad’s puppets, the ones that delighted so many people for so many years?

Well, the city is trying to figure that out, too.

Jennifer told The Palm Beach Post she would like to see the puppets donated.

Gretchen Szafaryn, a Lake Worth resident, since 1979, agreed.

She said the puppets should be a permanent fixture at Lake Worth City Museum.

“I hope John’s legacy can be shared in our town with those who loved him,” Szafaryn wrote in an email last week to the Palm Beach Post and City Manager Michael Bornstein.

Bornstein said it’s fitting to find a way to honor John while preserving his life’s work
