6th Avenue South to close at tracks for All Aboard Florida work

All Aboard Florida track workLAKE WORTH — Sixth Avenue South will be closed at the Florida East Coast Railroad starting Tuesday at 7.a.m. for the All Aboard Florida double tracking project.

The city said the tracks will re-open on Friday at 6 p.m,

 

Eastbound traffic will be detoured via A Street northbound to Lake Avenue eastbound to South Dixie Highway southbound.

Westbound traffic will be detoured via South Dixie Highway northbound to Lucerne Avenue westbound to A Street southbound.

The work is needed for All Aboard’s Brightline passenger train service linking Miami to Orlando.

Okeechobee Boulevard in West Palm Beach recently re-opened in both directions after similar track work was completed.
